With more than 40 years of experience, the company supplies all types of printing, from general stationery to full colour brochures, from promotional marketing gifts to roller banners.

Can you explain more about what Allens Printers does?

The business is based on Sloper Road in Cardiff, and has clients across Wales and the rest of the UK. We typically work for around 200 clients at anyone time and the clients vary in size enormously, from SMEs to larger, corporate organisations. We also have a strong presence in both the public and private sector as well, and that is testament to our ability to produce high quality products quickly and effectively, and at competitive prices.

What are Allen printers goals?

Allens employs 18 people who all play an essential role in achieving our future goals.  Since a management buyout in 2008 we have bucked the trend in our industry and achieved continuous growth.  We believe the reasons for this is that we deliver work of the highest possible standards coupled with excellent pricing and unrivalled service.

Why is Allens Printers a part of The Big Issue Cymru’s Big List?

We decided to support The Big Issue as we believe it is an extremely worthwhile cause. The support you provide to the homeless is remarkable, and we are proud to tell our clients that we are helping to make a contribution in some small way to towards helping you.

How does the ethos of Allens Printers fit in with that of The Big Issue Cymru?

We are an extremely focused and driven organisation that strives to offer clients the “complete package” in terms of their printing requirements ie personal service, attention to detail, high quality products, delivered on time, and right first time. Being focused and driven are just a couple of things we have in common with The Big Issue and its own ethos, but most of all, we like to help and that is the biggest similarity between the two organisations.

What are Allens Printers plans for the future?

Our plans for the future as identical to our goals highlighted earlier. We have continued to grow over the past few years, despite the recession and the stagnant economy, and we aim to continue to grow our client base going forward. We have recently invested £400,000 in new technology, including a £300,000 new press, so we are not resting on our laurels – we only want the best for our clients.

We believe a major reason behind our success is the fact we have a great team in place right from production stage, through to finishing, and then delivering the final product. Everybody at Allens pays attention to detail and understands that the client is king. Whether it’s a set of business cards or managing a whole series of projects for one of our largest clients we treat every job with the same high level of importance and care – yet another reason why we stand out from the crowd!
