GH Stationers Ltd based in Barry and established in 1999, supply office stationery throughout the UK, with the emphasis on good customer care and flexibility in approach. We are hugely committed to protecting the environment we work and live in and spend much time working with the local community in mentoring and coaching roles too. 

Ginetta Kent, Managing Director, explains why they support the Big Issue.

Q. Can you explain more about what GH Stationers Ltd does?
We own our own warehouse and offices in Barry from where we service the whole of the UK. We supply more or less anything and everything you find in the office, from pens and paper to desks and fax machines and we have recently introduced a very cost effective remanufactured toner cartridge range which fits well with our objective of protecting our environment by recycling whilst also saving money for our valued customers too. This has proved to be very popular with clients looking even more closely now for areas to save money without compromising on quality, which also sits well with our objectives.

Q. What are GH Stationers Ltd’s goals?
Our main goal is to offer excellent customer care with quality products without compromising on price. As mentioned earlier, we are committed to protecting our environment and take very seriously our responsibility for our carbon footprint not only in our own office but with the products we offer too. We also aim to have a fun working environment, as we believe that you spend such a large amount of time in work, you should enjoy it (most of the time!)

Q. Why is GH Stationers Ltd a part of The Big Issue Cymru’s Big List?
We strongly believe that the Big Issue is a very worthwhile charity and we feel there is many synergies between the Big Issues core values and that of GH Stationers Ltd. We are committed to developing our skills in order to better ourselves and work hard to achieve our objectives too.

Q. How does the ethos of GH Stationers Ltd fit in with that of The Big Issue Cymru?
We believe in offering real solutions to companies and to enable us to stay at the top of our game, which is similar to Big Issue. We have been Investors in People accredited for a number of years now and believe in investing in people to develop their key skills and teaching new ways to achieve your goals, in whichever way that may be. I have just completed the Welsh Assembly Dynamo Training Scheme to become a role model for young people with regard to starting and running a business too which further carries this message forward as well as being an ambassador for Careers Wales.

Q. What are GH Stationers Ltd’s plans for the future?
We are just recruiting yet another new sales position to deal with our growing demand, which I think is a great achievement in this current economic climate. We are aware that clients and potential clients are looking for cost saving options to reduce running costs in these difficult times so we are looking at ways to support this for them. Although clients are spending less, new clients are also more receptive to offers and alternative approaches than before so this is providing new and alternative opportunities for us and hence creating another new position within the company

GH Stationers Ltd is a success because of the collective skills of the dedicated team of staff, without question. Each team member brings unique skills and qualities that when harnessed together, makes a very dynamic, successful and fun operation. We have also forged strong working relationships with excellent suppliers, which enable us to provide excellent customer care. Our approach is flexible and friendly and although the company is growing, we never loose that personal touch and remain very grounded
