There’s no denying that already 2012 is shaping up to be The Maccabees’ year. They’ve had the cover of NME, massive airplay, been Zane Lowe’s Record of the Week on his Breakfast Show on Radio 1, invited to appear at MTV’s Brand New for 2012 Showcase in London alongside Lana del Ray, plus scored a number 4 position with their hotly anticipated third album Given to the Wild…. and we’re not even done with January yet!

The five-piece from London – Orlando Weeks, Hugo White, Felix White, Rupert Jarvis and Sam Doyle – have taken sonic inspiration from a disparate collection of musical peers such as The Stone Roses, Kate Bush and David Bowie on Given To The Wild, which finds the band ascending to new heights, both sonically and lyrically.

They will be out on the road strutting this dynamic new sound on a British tour, calling at: Leadmill, Sheffield (January 21), Lemon Tree, Aberdeen (Jan 22), QMU, Glasgow (Jan 23), Brixton 02 Academy, London (Jan 26), HMV Institute, Birmingham (Jan 27) Ritz, Manchester (Jan 28), Academy, Newcastle (Jan 29).
