This Christmas period the Bournemouth office chose a local vendor who really stood out to be acknowledged for their commitment. A very big well done to Bill Webb who has been awarded for his brilliant hard work and dedication.
The award recognises Bill’s outstanding support to The Big Issue foundation, his overall commitment, positive feedback from both shops and also public whilst selling his magazines on pitch. Bill’s pitch is situated at the entrance to a large car park in Bournemouth where he has a fantastic relationship with the office staff who look after his tabard, magazines and his faithful canine companion Chloe’s water bowl.
I find it heartening that my customers support me all year but still go out of their way to make sure Chloe and I have a good Christmas. – Bill
Bill has also got involved in addition activities such as being a part of one of The Big Issue Foundation’s flagship events “Being on the panel at the Big Issue Foundation Sleepout at the Oval on Friday 17th December gave me the opportunity to share a little of how the money raised is spent and also thank the fundraisers directly for taking part.”
Bill has also been involved in discussing issues with the local community by being a guest at Bournemouth University.
Last week Simon (Big Issue Foundation Area Services Manager) and I led a presentation to over 30 health care students from Bournemouth University, we spoke about the Big Issue and Big Issue Foundation working together, the difficulties of accessing health care and working with the homeless from a service user perspective.
Congratulations to Bill from everyone at the Bournemouth Office and from The Big Issue Foundation staff across the country.
