Grease star Olivia Newton-John and her daughter Chloe Lattanzi moved in together during lockdown and have been supporting each other through the pandemic

The pair have just released a new single, Window In The Wall, and in an interview with The Big Issue they explained how being in the same house after many years apart had breathed new life into their mother-daughter relationship.

Lattanzi, who shot to fame on the Australian version of Strictly Come Dancing, said spending time together had been “awesome”.

“Yes, I do get told to make my bed and tidy my room!” Lattanzi said. “Just from being with each other consistently, we’ve never been closer. I feel at peace when I’m with her.”

Newton-John and Lattanzi have spoken in the past about supporting each other through the issues they have faced.

Chloe, 35, has battled depression, alcohol and cocaine addiction and has suffered from body dysmorphia.

Newton-John, 72, lives with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer after being diagnosed three times in 1992, 2013 and 2017.

The singer and actress, who is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, uses medicinal cannabis as the focus of her treatment and Lattanzi runs a medicinal cannabis farm with her fiancé outside Portland, Oregon.

Speaking about seeing out two months of the pandemic together, Newton-John added: “You’re as happy as your unhappiest child. And so if I’m away from Chloe and I don’t know how she is I’m always concerned.

“The wonderful thing about being together is I can see how she is every day and so if she’s happy, I’m happy.”

On their new ballad, Window in the Wall, which is about love and unity, the duo explained it was written by a woman Newton-John had met at a health clinic and the song was “destined to be”.

“I don’t think the world’s forgotten how to love. It’s in our nature, we just need to be reminded of our humanity,” said Lattanzi.

“We’ve got to realise that we need to accept each other for our differences, rather than let that divide us,” Newton-John added.
