The Ride Out Recession Alliance (RORA) will develop and implement practical steps and solutions to prevent families losing their homes, and help people remain in employment.
By Spring 2021, 2.6 million people are expected to be unemployed in the UK. The economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic has meant the biggest drop in output for 300 years.
At best, we’re facing an economic crisis . At worst, hundreds of thousands of people could become homeless, according to the District Council’s Network, which represents 187 authorities across England.
At The Big Issue, we wanted to do something about this. Since we were established in 1991 we have worked for those on the margins of society to offer them a hand up, not a handout. We are determined to find ways to keep people in their jobs and in their homes.
The shock of coronavirus has called for a radical rethink. We need your ideas, your support and your courage to make a difference with the Ride Out recession Alliance.
