Pop firebrand and Big Issue cover star Tom Grennan is happy he’s played some special gigs this year, including one for us in Coventry.

But how does he celebrate the festive season? And what are his highlights of the past year?

From the famous Brat summer to Christmas cocktails, for our My Big Year series, here’s how Tom Grennan remembered 2024.

BIG ISSUE: What has been the standout moment of 2024?

TOM GRENNAN: I think my standout moment was probably playing my show at Gunnersbury Park. It felt like the start of something very special. The cultural highlight would have to be Brat summer, the year of Charli XCX.

Are you more or less hopeful than at the start of 2024?

I’m definitely more hopeful, I’m more hopeful every day.

What would your browsing history say about you this year?

My browsing history would probably be full of different restaurants – I’ve loved trying different cuisines and trying to find new places to eat.

What is the oddest family Christmas tradition you keep?

In my family we’re not a typical Christmas tradition house but we do all love an old-fashioned snowball drink at Christmas.

What is your big issue for 2025?

My big issue for 2025 is to work harder and better always.

Do you have a story to tell or opinions to share about this? Get in touch and tell us more. This Christmas, you can make a lasting change on a vendor’s life. Buy a magazine from your local vendor in the street every week. If you can’t reach them, buy a Vendor Support Kit.
