Read all about it! In this week’s Big Issue…

Forget superheroes on the big screen, this week we have the story of a real-life hero. Rae used to sell The Big Issue in Glasgow. It was an experience that changed everything and still has an enormous impact on her life today. To do her tale justice, we asked an award-winning team (including Eoin Colfer, the author of the Artemis Fowl books) to adapt it into a mini-graphic novel. It’s extra special, and I’ve attached it here so you can have a sneak peek.

We have Christmas all wrapped up as we launch our exclusive wrapping paper collection designed by artists including Ben Eine and Charming Baker, available next week from the Big Issue Shop.

And we also hear from Paul, who sells outside Westminster and until recently slept in an underpass in Parliament Square. He talks about how politicians, distracted by Brexit, ignore the big issues literally under their noses.

Also inside…

  • Who is this week’s Younger Self. Well, one of Who – specifically Pete Townsend who talks about his generation. Remember that a new book featuring some of the best Letters to Younger Selves is out now!
  • Actor Russell Tovey talks about his year in arts plus new film The Good Liar
  • This week’s My Pitch vendor is James Davis in Cardiff, who hopes to find work helping adults with learning disabilities
  • Plus: Does doing puzzles as a child decrease the risk of dementia?

And as always, even more inside!
