Our solutions to the poverty crisis
We help people earn a quick income by selling the Big Issue magazine. Vendors buy the magazine for £2 and sell it for £4, keeping the profit. We support them every step of the way – from securing a pitch and setting up cashless payments, to providing five free magazines to help them get started.
Through Big Issue Recruit, we help organisations build a more inclusive workforce by connecting them with people we’ve supported to become work-ready and eager to take the next step.
We campaign for change at the highest level, holding those in power to account. Right now, we’re calling for a Poverty Zero law – legislation that would require every government to set and meet targets to reduce poverty.
Through Big Issue Invest, we fund other social enterprises and social-purpose businesses that are tackling poverty and inequality across the UK.
