Thursday 03 September – A major new exhibition is set to transform London’s streets into an open-air gallery of contemporary protest art, featuring work from Led By Donkeys, DFace, Sarah Maple, Chris Packham and other visionary creatives.
Paste Present Future, created by creative studio Grow Up in collaboration with Global Street Advertising Agency UNCLE, brings together 35 artists from across the worlds of street art, graphic design and contemporary culture to respond to one simple question: “What’s your big issue?”
The project will see artworks displayed across poster sites throughout London, before being showcased in a dedicated exhibition at Laundry Studios in Hackney.
Artists have been invited to create original works inspired by the causes, concerns and ideas they feel most passionately about, continuing the long tradition of protest art as a catalyst for conversation and change.
Alongside the exhibition, limited-edition prints will be available through the Big Issue Shop, with 25% of proceeds helping Big Issue continue its work creating opportunities for people experiencing poverty across the UK.
The project comes as Big Issue turns 35 years old in the month of September, marking more than three decades of its iconic street paper and the earning opportunity it offers people experiencing extreme poverty in the UK.
