During this coronavirus crisis, our street vendors need you more than ever. Their income comes from selling the magazine and with the streets in lock down, our vendors cannot make a living. With your help today, The Big Issue can continue to support them now and in the future.
Hannah started writing for The Big Issue in 2018 before joining the team as staff reporter a year later. She covers news and features across social justice, politics and culture, and helps make magazine content sing on social media. Hannah has been leading The Big Issue's Changemakers series since its inception, seeking out and interviewing the people whose radical ideas are making real material difference in the lives of marginalised people. That includes taking charge of the annual Top 100 Changemakers special edition, researching and profiling the UK’s most exciting people and groups for the prestigious list. Before joining the Big Issue team, Hannah worked as a freelance subeditor and feature writer for a range of magazines and newspapers with a particular focus on inequality and social enterprises. Sometimes this meant conducting interviews inside women’s centres for community magazines, other times it meant spending the night alone in a 16th century palace with the lights off. Much of Hannah’s working life is spent wondering when colleagues will be impressed by rather than mocking of her knowledge of mid-noughties emo bands.
