Tony Macaulay signing at Waterstones, Coleraine: Macaulay will be signing copies of his satirical comedy drama Belfast Gate (Saturday October 5, 2pm)

Meet illustrator Millie Marotta at Rossiter Books, Monmouth and Ross- on-Wye: Chat to Millie and discover her brand new book, A Wild Child’s Guide to Endangered Animals (Saturday October 5, Monmouth 11am-12pm;

Cressida Cowell signing  at WHSmith, Worcester: Children’s Laureate Cressida Cowell will be visiting the store to sign copies of her book The Wizards of Once: Twice Magic (Friday October 4, 4.30pm)

Tom Fletcher signing at WHSmith, Cribbs Causeway, Bristol: One of the UK’s bestselling authors for children signs copies of his new book The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch (Saturday October 5, 10am)

Jess Phillips MP – Truth to Power: 7 Ways to Call Time on BS at Toppings, Bath: Join the Labour MP as she inspires us to speak out against injustices (Saturday 5 October 5, 8pm)

Elmer’s Walk at Pickled Pepper Books, Crouch End, London: based on David McKee’s book, Elmer’s Walk provides an interactive and sensory experience for under-threes. The event will also include a meet- and-greet with Elmer the Elephant himself! (Saturday October 5, 10am)

Sophia Thakur at Waterstones Tottenham Court Road, London: She’ll be performing poems from her collection Somebody Give This Heart A Pen (Saturday October 5, 5pm)

Plastic Sucks! Dougie Poynter signing at Blackwell’s Bookshop, Westgate, Oxford: Come and meet environmental campaigner and McFly musician Dougie Poynter (Saturday October 5, 10am)

Pullman Party and The Secret Commonwealth book launch at Waterstones Dorking: The store will be hosting two parties with fun, games and competitions (Saturday October 5)

Philip Pullman weekend at Waterstones Newcastle: Over the course of the weekend there will be a wide spectrum of activities celebrating one of the biggest book releases of 2019, Philip Pullman’s The Book of Dust Volume Two: The Secret Commonwealth (Saturday October 5/Sunday October 6)

Philip Pullman at Blackwell’s Oxford: Blackwell’s is delighted to be hosting an event with Philip Pullman at the Sheldonian Theatre to celebrate the launch (Sunday October 6, 5:30pm)

The Secret Commonwealth book clinic at Waterstones Middlesbrough: The shop will be giving a ‘clinic’, recommending books that you may like if you love Pullman and need a new read to tide you over (Saturday October 5)
