Letter to My Younger Self: Inspirational Women

Letter to My Younger Self: Inspirational Women is out now

For more than 15 years, Big Issue has asked some of the most well-recognised people in the world to reflect on their younger selves, to offer words of wisdom and provide hope.

In our Letter to My Younger Self series, many of these figures from across entertainment, politics, sports and more have opened up in ways they never had before.

Originally released in hardback in 2022 and compiled by Big Issue books editor Jane Graham, Letter to My Younger Self: Inspirational Women is a collection of 75 powerful, moving and honest interviews with incredible women.

Read more:

It includes Fearne Cotton speaking about her struggles with imposter syndrome, Clare Balding on being brave, Caitlin Moran on social anxiety, Dawn French on confidence, Alesha Dixon on risk-taking and much more.

Many of the women featured in the book show off sides to themselves that haven’t been seen elsewhere.

Graham said: “Over the years the weekly Letter To My Younger Self has garnered a reputation for discovering new truths about interesting people. Big stars are unusually willing to reveal personal information in their interviews, perhaps because The Big Issue is trusted as a magazine with integrity, unlikely to seek out big headline controversies or exploit sensitive material.”

Letter to My Younger Self: Inspirational Women is now available in paperback and all royalties from the sales of this book will go to the Big Issue. Get it here.
