National Vendor Week

As a new report shows that more people are coming to Big Issue for a hand up in difficult times, we celebrate the hard-working men and women across the country who sell this magazine.

The real repair shop

The Repair Shop’s Jay Blades and former Big Issue vendor Steve Wyatt go way back. Next week they are opening a shop together. They tell us how bringing the best out of furniture has been the secret to bringing the best out in each other.

Vendor romance

Loved-up pair of vendors Lon Faram and Maxine Walters have already raised cash for an engagement ring through magazine sales, and now have their sights set on tying the knot.

Sabrina Cohen-Hatton

Sabrina is a leading firefighter, an award-winning academic and a writer. She is also a Big Issue Ambassador, having sold the magazine as a teenager in Wales. That experience changed her life, by opening up a pathway out of homelessness towards a bright future and explains how she is breaking through the “glass breadline”.

The cultural world of our vendors

Do you remember your first gig? What book would you take to a desert island? Learning about the cultural touchstones in someone’s life is the best way to get to know any of us. So we asked our crew how they like to relax. Get ready for the books, films, TV shows, music and other activities that Big Issue sellers across the UK enjoy in their spare time.

And for International Women’s Day, we find out how the street paper movement is empowering women around the world…plus much more!

If you can, please buy a copy from your local vendor.

If you can’t buy in person, you can purchase magazines from The Big Issue Shop or download a digital version via The Big Issue app, available now from the App Store or Google Play
