James Bowen and Street Cat Bob appear at special screening in Cornwall

The world's most famous cat was in the south-west for a charity fundraiser and Big Issue signing session

James Bowen and Bob the Cat have been busy making friends all over the world, travelling as far as Japan to talk about their former life selling The Big Issue and explaining their rags-to-riches tale.

This weekend the superstars were back on the south coast of England, paying a visit to Cornwall to attend a special screening of A Street Cat Named Bob – the movie based on Bowen’s bestselling memoir.

One of The Big Issue’s Truro vendors Nick joined the duo for the showing.

James and Bob were also on hand at a question and answer session afterward, before popping onto a charity gala at the Alverton Hotel aimed at raising to money for Emmaus – the Christian charity working to end homelessness.

And James and Bob also took some time out in Truro town centre to meet Big Issue vendors and readers during a signing session on the street.

People came out in droves to see James and Bob

“It was a great day,” said Steve Carter, The Big Issue’s team leader in Devon & Cornwall Team Leader.
