After what could likely be the most embarrassing 24 hours a sitting prime minister has ever lived through, Boris Johnson has finally announced his resignation as prime minister.

In spite of holding firm yesterday, the resignation of more than 50 ministers from the government and a coterie of cabinet members imploring him to step down, Johnson has finally agreed – and the internet is loving every second.

Ignoring for a moment the deeply depressing spectacle of a government finally crumbling under the crippling weight of endless scandals and lies, here’s your round up of the funniest reactions.
