Help us create new opportunities for people facing poverty

INSERT STRIP BLOCK

For 35 years, Big Issue has provided people in poverty a chance to earn with dignity. As the world shifts, so must we. Cash is disappearing, print media is in decline, and 1 million young people are not in work or education. The Transformation Fund is our response.

What is the Transformation Fund?

The Transformation Fund helps us respond to rising poverty and fast changing economic conditions. With fewer cash transactions, declining print sales and greater instability for people on low incomes, we are evolving our model so more people can earn a stable income,

Your support will help us safeguard current vendor income and create new digital-first opportunities that work for more people seeking flexible ways to earn.

Why the Fund Matters

  • Over 3.8 million people are living in destitution in the UK
  • Cash use is falling and traditional earning routes are under pressure
  • Demand for dignified, flexible income is increasing

The Transformation Fund allows us to adapt and scale solutions that meet these challenges head on.

What the Fund Supports

  • Protecting vendor income today: We are expanding practical tools that help vendors earn more, including digital inclusion support and cashless payment options such as FumoPay, alongside routes to other work through Big Issue Recruit.
  • Creating new digital first earning opportunities: We are developing and piloting new solutionsto give people in poverty, including young people who are not in employment, education or training (NEETs), flexible, community focused ways to earn through digital content and place-based activity.
  • Building a future ready model: We are developing a scalable approach that increases income, builds confidence and strengthens local communities.
