Sophia is Deputy Digital Editor (Audience) for The Big Issue. A proud care experienced journalist, she writes across a range of topics, and finds creative ways to bring the news to social media audiences. She is a mentor for the John Schofield Trust’s Journalism Cares programme, and a 2023 Churchill Fellow. In 2021 Sophia was named on the PPA 30 under 30 list, and in 2022 won ‘Exclusive of the Year’ at the NCTJ Excellence in Journalism Awards for her investigation into the discriminatory treatment of care experienced mothers.
