My Cause UK offer you the chance to volunteer at festivals this summer, all whilst raising money for The Big Issue! It’s simple – you donate your time, and in return they make a cash donation to us!
You don’t need to raise any money or make a donation yourself. You simply pay a deposit for the event you would like to volunteer at, complete your shifts, and get your deposit back after the event is over. My Cause UK then make a donation based on a fee they receive from the event organisers. To top it off, you do this for free while gaining experience working in the music and events industry, which also looks incredible on your CV!
All you have to do is register your details to apply as a volunteer and remember to select The Big Issue as your chosen organisation. All volunteers get free entry to the festival, and once you’ve completed your festival volunteering experience, My Cause UK makes a donation to us! My Cause UK is the UK’s leading festival volunteer community and a registered Not For Profit Community Interest Company. They have provided over 5,000 festival volunteers to the UK’s biggest events such as Boomtown, Bestival, NAAS, Love Saves The Day, Lovebox, and Download Festival and as a result have donated over £80,000 to various charities across the UK.
The organisation was formed to help provide a platform for charities to raise money at festivals across the UK by providing volunteers, while allowing people to access some great festivals without having to pay for a ticket. My Cause UK works by arranging a fee with festival organisers to provide a team of volunteers to fulfil a specific service at their event such as ticket scanning and wrist-banding. This fee covers the recruitment, training and management of the team of volunteers as well as overheads such as insurance, catering and other logistical costs. Once the team have completed their assignment and payment has been received from a festival, My Cause UK donate a share of the fee to each of the charities that volunteers have nominated.
