What does Luke Skywalker want to say to Donald Trump?

If there is good in him then Star Wars' Mark Hamill hasn’t felt it as he reveals his top books of 2018 (SPOILER: there's a theme)

Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill knows a thing or two about conquering evil emperors – his Star Wars character Luke Skywalker did just that – and now he is trying to use the Force against Donald Trump.

Hamill’s hatred for the president has flown through him in the Twittersphere for quite some time but now the Hollywood star and Big Issue BFF has exclusively revealed that it has spilled over into his reading list.

And more than two years after Trump was confirmed as the most powerful man in the world, Hamill insists that the constantly revolving White House circus is almost enough to drive a Jedi knight to the dark side.

“My four most recent books all have to do with coming to grips with the catastrophic election of our current ‘president’, who by the way, got nearly three million less votes than his opponent,” he said, who picked four Trump-related bestsellers in his book review of the year.

“History will not be kind in assessing this national disgrace, which is easily the biggest scandal in American history.

“After all of these books, I’ll need to reread Charlotte’s Web by EB White, just to cleanse my palate.”

Also featuring Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer and book recommendations from Armando Iannucci, Great British Bake Off’s Prue Leith and more, the magazine is available now from your nearest vendor or the Big Issue Shop.
