Hurry up Harry – a Royal Big Issue would be a crowning achievement

The Big Issue readers have spoken! Harry and Meghan should choose us to carry shots of their big day

Prince Harry Meghan Markle

With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle due to tie the knot in May, preparations have been tarnished somewhat by Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Simon Dudley’s comments branding homelessness in the town as “voluntary”.

Despite the resulting backlash, Dudley has defended his comments and apologised only “for the clarity of his communication”, insisting he was calling for a clampdown on anti-social behaviour rather than rough sleepers. Harry? He’s stayed silent, his spokesperson telling us there will be no comment.

But here’s an idea…

In this week’s magazine, editor Paul McNamee called on the prince and his bride-to-be to choose The Big Issue as the place to show-off their prized wedding snaps.

And our readers agreed:

One tweeter even called on the pair to ‘put their principles into action’.

Harry would be following in the illustrious footsteps of “loveable wide-boy” Shane Richie. The long-time EastEnders star once sold us exclusive rights to pics from his 40th birthday for the reasonable sum of £1.10 (and he still has the cheque framed at his house too!).

So come on, Harry. You know it makes sense.
