Launching the Sell a Sub challenge!

We're recruiting an army of supporters to sell subscriptions of the magazine and help our vendors while they are unable to work on their pitches.

As a result of the coronavirus crisis, for the first time since The Big Issue launched, we had to take the difficult decision not to sell a magazine on the streets, and asked our vendors to stop selling for their own health and safety.

It’s still not safe for our vendors to return to selling on their pitches due to the lockdown. With your help we’re supporting them every day, but as the crisis continues, we’re launching new ways you can support them.

Will you take on the Sell A Sub Challenge?

We’re asking you – our wonderful supporters and subscribers – to take on the Sell A Sub Challenge to get more people to sign up for a 3 month subscription to The Big Issue magazine.

It’s simple to take part:

  • Sell 3 subscriptions to The Big Issue to 3 of your friends and family in the next 7 days

To kickstart the challenge, simply download the Challenge Pack and Social Posts below and upload them to your personal social media channels – you’re good to go!

And if you want to make it official, we would love you to change your job title on Linkedin and your Twitter bio to an Associate Big Issue Seller. It lets other people know that you’re taking on the challenge and helps spread the word about our vendors’ situation.

Once you’ve completed your challenge, tell us all about it at social@bigissue.com or why not challenge someone you know to sell 3 more subscriptions to their friends and family and continue to pass on the support!

50% of the net proceeds go directly to supporting vendors and 50% goes to The Big Issue to ensure we can be here for those that need us now and in the future.

With your support, we can continue to help our vendors and change lives. Thank you!
