We're going AUGMENTED REALITY in January with our 'Tech For Good' special

The Big Issue is launching a 'Tech For Good' special on January 7th that will feature an interactive cover and exclusive video and audio inside

We’re starting 2019 with a bang here at The Big Issue, launching the first ever augmented reality-enhanced street newspaper in the world on January 7th.

In a first for the magazine, readers will be able to use their mobile devices to access exclusive, unique content straight from the pages of the magazine, bringing The Big Issue to life with video and audio. Even the cover will be interactive as we take our hard working vendors into the AR revolution.

The ‘Tech For Good’ special issue will feature exclusive music performances from the likes of Snowman composer  and ex-Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows, plus interviews with some of the country’s biggest authors, including Notes On A Nervous Planet creator Matt Haig.

Launching in partnership with technology company Konica Minolta, the special edition will also hold a lens to how technology can be harnessed to do good in the world. To access the special content, all you need to do is download the GenARate app for your mobile, and make sure you pick up our special edition hitting the streets on Monday January 7th. Stay tuned over the coming weeks for more information!
