Faster, higher, stronger – better

Next week should have seen the start of the Paralympic Games. The cover features Jean-Baptiste Alaize, one of the many athletes whose incredible stories have transcended sport and gone onto change the world. We speak to two-time gold-medal winner Jonnie Peacock about the psychology of overcoming the odds, and how the movement founded by a Jewish refugee who came to Britain left us with one of our proudest legacies.

Following the hard work of the Ride Out Recession Alliance, the Westminster government announced they are extending the eviction ban – but thousands of families still face as uncertain a future as ever. We talk to those at risk of losing their homes and highlight a campaign looking to tackle the problem of empty properties on a global scale.
