Let’s rebuild democracy

Happy birthday to us!

In this special edition to mark our 28th birthday we are looking to the future, revealing plans for Lord Bird’s Future Generations Bill that could finally dismantle poverty. It’s a pioneering plan to make sure politics learns the lessons of the past.

The Bill will be steered through the Commons by Green MP Caroline Lucas, and she is in charge of a democratic takeover of the magazine. She interviews Greek financial guru Yanis Varoufakis about the past, present and future of democracy. There are also pieces from the former Lord Mayor of Sheffield, now Green MEP, Magid Magid and social activist Naomi Klein.

As a special birthday treat to readers, we are offering hundreds of free tickets to a preview screening of Ken Loach’s acclaimed new film ‘Sorry We Missed You’. Details on how to get tickets in the magazine.
