The Archbishop and The Big Issue

The Archbishop and The Big Issue

Our vendor Lee Welham recently struck up a friendship with Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby – and hatched a plan to get him to don a tabard and go unannounced among his flock to get an insight into life as a vendor: “It really struck me that people weren’t looking me in the eye, people were head down, I could see people crossing the road,” he says. “But when someone did buy a magazine it felt good.”

Windrush and toppling statues
